It is with mixed emotions that I am closing my Howard County massage practice after nearly 10 years of fulfilling work with wonderful people! My own life path has taken me to a different state as of this summer, and there may be many more stops before I land back in Maryland, if I do at all. I wish you the best on your wellness and other journeys in life!
Have you tended yourself today?
Imagine resting on a warm bed in a quiet room - no work, no errands, no to-do lists. You close your eyes and take a few deep breaths, preparing to let go of all the stress, strain, and pains of daily life, anticipating 60-90 minutes of relaxing, unwinding massage to begin. With that first touch, you have a sudden awareness of all the tension in your body - in the next moment a strong desire to let it all go – and with your next breath it has already begun melting away...
Massage should be an integral part of nearly everyone's health and wellness routine. It is more than a special-occasion luxury; it has legitimate health benefits, physical, mental and more, and is an effective complement to other forms of wellness care. Please take a look around this website to learn about my practice and the benefits of massage.
Life has its challenges. In order to do your best, you must be at your best. The time to take care of yourself is now. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact me, and I look forward to helping you on your path to wellness.
The Power of Touch
Touch is an extremely powerful form of therapy; a form of connection to others and a gateway into yourself. Therapeutic massage ranges from light touch, energetic work to deep tissue manipulation.
The body is a fascinating composition that can be our best friend or worst enemy when not treated well; muscles hold tension from physical and mental stressors and can develop unrelenting trigger points. Even gentler massage modalities stimulate the nervous system and remind our bodies that we do care. The relaxation of a massage combined with nervous and muscle stimulation encourages the body to return to normal functioning.
The benefits are endless; relieving mental stress alone has exponential results, especially combined with improved circulation, lymph drainage, and joint flexibility, faster muscle recovery, increased energy, and other somatic and emotional results.
Take time to unwind....
The next time you feel the stress, aches and pains adding up – or preventatively before they begin – treat yourself – and your body, that works so hard for you – to a massage. It’s not just an indulgence; it’s a legitimate step to becoming the most healthy and well you that you can be.
